The Waikato and Bay of Plenty Network of Expertise will be holding a series of free online PD sessions to look at a number of topics of interest to mathematics and statistics teachers in our region.
There will be material of interest to teachers of students from yr 0 to year 13. There will be opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.
The sessions will be recorded and technology prevailing will be posted on the WBOP YouTube channel after the event.
The sessions will last for approximately 40 minutes.
Kicking off Week 2 of Term 3
Wednesday 29 July 7pm: Modern Learning Environments – The Rototuna Senior High School Experience
Ruby Grant will be sharing her experiences as a mathematics and statistics teacher in a modern learning environment from open spaces, and break out spaces to working with large numbers of students and co-teaching. She will be joined by ex-student Zoe Chaves to get a students perspective of modern learning environments.
Tuesday 11 August 4.30pm Integrating Mathematics and Statistics in Cross-Curricular (integrated) Units
Andrew Marshall and Jason Sharma will share their experiences integrating maths at NCEA level 1, 2, and 3. Examples will include combining mathematics & statistics with PE, Chemistry, Music and Geography ( not all at once)
